Hey guys, Reaching out for some help on this weird one here. I have a clients Toshiba Portege M400-S4031 laptop which got a pretty crazy virus. Long story short I tried to format the drive and reinstall windows, formatting the drive proved no issue.
Ive tried a few different methods, windows format, diskpart. But everytime I run thru the win 7 setup it says no HDD found even though it shows up in BIOS. I combed thru the BIOS for AHCI SATA settings, anything that may help. No luck, I then tried for kicks to install win 7 on the HDD in a different PC, then put that HDD in the Toshiba and it started the windows loading screen then obviously blued out due to incompatible drivers, but shows me the HDD is def being seen, just not in the install!!! To top it off I went into UBCD environment, again the HDD shows up!
I can run a chkdsk on it, diagnostic (which passes). I was going to try to install it to a USB but that got shut down quick due to the partition issue. Installing Win 7 Ulti, 32 bit.
Tried 2 DVDs and my USB install drive so far, same results on all. Any ideas are welcome!!! Oh PS i also already tried updating the BIOS to the latest 3.7 version. No change:- •.
